The three-year Pre-Professional Certificate Program satisfies the academic entrance requirements of most medical schools/colleges. At the end of three years, students will have the minimum requirements for application to the professional schools/colleges, provided they follow the specified curriculum sequence designed for the program.
Students wishing to apply for medical school must declare their intention either to remain with the pre-professional certificate program or to complete the biology/chemistry major by the middle of the first semester of their sophomore year. The University cannot guarantee completion of the certificate program in three years or the biology/chemistry major in four years unless the established curriculum sequence for the respective program is followed.
All medical, veterinary, or pharmacy schools require a high level of performance on the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examination) and a GPA of at least 3.4.
